Why should I hire a professional makeup artist for my wedding day?

It is very important that on your wedding day your makeup and hairstyle are applied by a professional specialized in weddings. Even if a friend offers to do your makeup, regardless of her skills, there are technical aspects that only a bridal makeup artist can master. A professional bridal makeup artist has the experience, knowledge and expertise to provide a long lasting makeup look that remains impeccable for hours, resistant to heat and tears of joy and adequate to high definition photography and video. She is able to create the look that best suits your personal style and enhances your natural features.

 

Do I need a makeup trial? What is the process of that?

A trial is not mandatory but I highly recommend it! It is extremely important to discuss and sample out the makeup style that you choose. You get to know me better and you will have the opportunity to test how the makeup stays during the day, giving enough time to do the necessary tweaks before the wedding. You should book your trial as soon as possible but I recommend that you have it done not too early before the wedding. I would say 2 weeks to 6 months before would be perfect.However, if you don't have the opportunity to travel before the wedding day and book a trial, you don't need to worry, we can still find a way to discuss your likes and needs prior to your Big Day.

 

How far in advance should I book my bridal makeup?

It depends on the time of the year but generally I recommend that brides book my services as soon as possible. I am currently taking bookings for 2022 and 2023 wedding seasons, so the sooner you secure your date, the better. Keep in mind that the Algarve is a top wedding destination! You may be able to get availability closer to your date, but it is way too risky!  To avoid disappointment and having to go for second choices, I suggest that you include the booking of your makeup as one of your priorities during the planning of your wedding.

 

What is the booking process?

Once you get in touch, you will be provided with all the information regarding prices and availability. As soon as you decide to go ahead with the booking, a signed contract is required and you will be given 10 days to proceed with the payment of a non-refundable and non-transferrable deposit in order to secure your date. You will then receive a confirmation email confirming your booking.

Do you offer makeup services for other members of the bridal party? Is there a limit?

Yes. I do provide makeup for your guests and bridesmaids. There is no limit number of makeup services - depending on time of the ceremony, I am able to accommodate up to 6 persons. If the group is larger, an independent assistant makeup artist can be made available (limited to availability and extra charges may be applied).

 

Can I hire you for partial makeup services, i.e. just eyes or just lashes?

Unfortunately no. Your look represents my work and it should be done by me from start to finish.

How long does makeup application take?

Depending on the makeup look and your skin condition, in general it's one hour for the bride and 30-45 minutes for each guest or bridesmaid.

How long will you stay with me on wedding day?

I will stay with you during the time that is necessary to finish all makeup services. If you'd like me to stay longer, an extra hourly fee will be charged. Bookings upon request and limited to availability.

Can I book my makeup and let each guest book their own with you directly?

No. Bridal parties must book their makeup as a group and the bride is responsible for the booking process and all payments. Deposits correspond to each guest, are non-refundable and non-transferable.

Do you travel to me? Are there any extra costs involved?

Yes, I am happy to travel to you at your best convenience, either for makeup trial and wedding day. There is a travel fee involved, depending on distance. I also work abroad: countries include UK, Ireland, Italy and France. In such cases, travel costs will be calculated according to destination and all the aspects regarding accommodation and meals.

 

How do you accept payment?

Payments of deposit are made via Bank Transfer (details are provided during booking process).

Remaining balance can be paid up to one month before the wedding day via bank transfer. Alternatively, the bride may pay in cash on the wedding day upon my arrival and before starting the service. The bride is responsible for all payments. Payment with credit cards is not accepted.

 

Do you do hair or know anyone who does?

Yes, I do provide simple hair services but only for certain situations: productions or photoshoots. For brides I do not have the expertise to do so. However, I work closely with amazing experienced professionals in the Algarve and throughout the country that I would be very happy to recommend you.
